Delight in Giving
March 2013
It is the month of MARCH and spring is finally on its way. We have much to be thankful for. First, we want to thank you very much for your generous contributions of time, talent and treasure for all that we do here at Seekonk Congregational Church UCC. You are each an essential part of making our church a very special community that touches the lives of many people each year. With your generous support of our Stewardship Campaign for the July 2012- June 2013 operating budget, we achieved our goal of increasing our pledging by 10% to help meet our budget needs. Thank you very much for your support!
With your help, we also accomplished another important step in supporting our church finances. The Stewardship Committee expanded “electronic giving” last year and already nearly one-third (31%) of our pledges now come in electronically. This is important because it is very easy for our members to pledge electronically. Also the electronic funds come into our church accounts regularly allowing us to pay our bills in a timely manner thus avoiding peaks and valleys of giving when members are not attending church (especially in summer months). We hope to increase the number of members who choose to give electronically for this next financial year. We will have a table in the church hall after several services in the next few weeks so that you can stop by and ask questions and see how the process of signing up for electronic giving works. Watch for announcements in the Caller and the weekly bulletins.
Imagine how great it will be if each member can continue to contribute as generously as last year to meet our financial needs and can also consider giving electronically if not already doing so. If you have not had the opportunity to pledge in the past, this will be a great year to begin.
Enclosed please find your pledge card. Please return your pledge card using the enclosed return envelope or place it in the offering plate. We have included an authorization form for electronic giving using either electronic funds transfer (EFT) from your bank account or your credit/debit card. You can also visit our website at www.scc-ucc.com and click on the “online giving” button near the bottom of the main page and follow the simple guidelines to set up your electronic giving or you can call the office for assistance.
